The term for the mandatory replacement of old driver’s licenses with new type of documents was extended until December 31, 2021.

According to changes in government decrees, the period for the mandatory replacement of national old driver’s licenses with new national driver’s licenses has been extended until December 31, 2021.

Also, national driver’s licenses and certificates of registration of an old-style motor vehicle are considered invalid from January 1, 2022.

In accordance with the amendments, when replacing certificates it is forbidden to request the following documents:

driver’s examination sheet;
confirmation of the UBDD that issued the driver’s license;
medical certificate;
a document confirming the driving of vehicles for 12 months.

Thus, until December 31, 2021, to replace the national driver’s license, it’s enough to present a passport and driver’s license, as well as an old-style coupon for it.
